Washington– Congress on Wednesday is set to approve a sweeping $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief plan aimed at addressing the ongoing economic fallout from the continuous pandemic, providing President Biden his very first significant legislative success.
Democrats have declared the economic relief bundle as one of their defining legislative accomplishments.
A variation of the president’s relief strategy passed the House last week, but the Senate modified the package and approved it in a 50-49 party-line vote
Lawmakers utilized a procedure known as budget plan reconciliation to usher the relief strategy through both chambers, which allowed it to pass the Senate with simply an easy majority and without relying on Republican assistance.
