Dr. Judith McKay Sides was the very first individual to sign up with the Peace Corps from the U.S. Public Health Service. She was operating at NIH in NIAMD (now NIAMS) at the time. With Peace Corps she taught anatomy and piano at the University of Nigeria. She went on to finish from Tufts Medical School, then dealt with Fred Stohlman (Hematology, Editorial Director of Blood).
