Speaker Biography:
Dr. Tomasz Zemojtel, Head of the Genomics Core Unit at the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH- Charité) in Berlin, finished at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. His interest in equating genomics-based tools into medical diagnostics was triggered throughout his deal with Martin Vingron and Hilger Ropers at limit Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics (2004-2012). He has actually established and lead a molecular genes diagnostic lab at Labor Berlin (2013-2017), where he has actually carried out a vast array of NGS-based diagnostic test and developed in silico-based medical workflows (i.e. Zemojtel et al. 2014 Sci.Transl.Med.), and equated it into the medical setting of the University Clinics Charité. In 2017 Tomasz has actually been selected to establish the BIH-Charité Genomics Core Unit. The system integrates strong technical damp laboratory know-how with strong bioinformatic abilities in carrying out cutting-edge genomics services. Tomasz’s primely function remains in interfacing with and supplying end-to-end molecular diagnostic services to clinicians
Randy is a Senior Applications Scientist and a member of the Automated Genomics Business Unit with Beckman Coulter Life Sciences. Randy got his Master’s of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno where he studied lipid flippases in Arabidopsis thaliana. Presently, he is operating in lab automation with a focus on Next Generation Sequencing and Genomics, establishing services on theBeckman Coulter Biomek i-Series liquid handling platforms and has actually led automation collaborations with Illumina, Twist Bioscience, and IDT.
Webinar:
Completely automated RNA library preparation for sequencing breathing infections
Webinar Abstract:
Targeted sequencing of breathing infections’ genomes is very important to determine unique viral versions. Compared to amplicon sequencing, target enrichment through hybrid– capture approaches offer high level of sensitivity of alternative detection and more consistent and total protection. In this webinar, we explain automation of the Illumina RNA Prep with Enrichment (L) Tagmentation set utilizing the Illumina Respiratory Virus Oligos Panel v2 on the Biomek i7 Hybrid Automated Workstation. We demonstrated/validated the approach utilizing SARS-CoV-2 favorable samples gathered at the Berlin Institute of Health, Berlin, DEU. Our sequencing information reveals that the automated technique makes it possible for extensive profiling of viral genome at high throughput, with very little hands-on time.
