A Medical Informatics Odyssey, Visions of the Future and Lessons from the Past

AMIA 2001: Medical Informatics Odyssey supplies a place to find out the past and to visualize the future role of medical informatics developments in the discovery, development, and application of biomedical understanding; the shipment of healthcare in a wide variety of settings; and the health of the general public. In addition, a panel examines the 20- year history of nursing at the Seminar. A 2nd special track on Patient Security, partially supported by funding from the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality, is specifically designed to highlight the Symposium content concentrated on system methods to minimize medical errors and enhance client security.
